The District Court of Guam is pleased to announce the 2024 High School Civics Contest sponsored by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and by the District Court of Guam.
The theme of the 2024 contest is, "70 Years Later - The Legacy of Brown v. Board of Education.” More information may be found in the attached flyer.
The contest is open to high school students in nine western states, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Contest entries will be accepted starting January 8, 2024, and will be accepted through March 8, 2024. Individual students can express their thoughts and ideas in an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words, and individuals and teams of up to three students can produce a 3–5-minute video on the theme. A student may submit both an essay and video but may submit only one essay and be involved in the production of only one video.
Cash prizes will be offered to the winners on both the local (Guam) level and on the Ninth Circuit level!
