The District Court of Guam will be hosting the 2025 Power Act Event on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in the District Court of Guam's 4th floor courtroom.
The Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent (POWER) Act was signed into federal law in September 2018 to help combat domestic abuse sexual violence, empower survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault, engage citizens, and help lift victims out of the cycle of violence by encouraging attorneys to provide pro bono services to victims.
Attorney Carol M. Hinkle Sanchez, Esq., from the Civil Law Center - Guam Public Defender Service Corporation, will present on the pro bono services and legal aid contacts on Guam for victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Registration:
Registration is open to all Guam Bar Association attorneys and can be made through your GBA Member Dashboard. The registration fee for this 1 CLE Credit event is $50 OR free when you register for the Annual District Court of Guam Conference, which will be held, Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa. To receive the free Power Act registration, register under the "2025 Power Act & Annual District Court Conference" event. Light refreshments will be offered at the 2025 Power Act Event.
