The Honorable Chief Justice Robert J. Torres has appointed Attorney Sean E. Brown as the new magistrate under 7 GCA § 4401, subject to the approval of Liheslaturan Guåhan.
In his letter to Speaker Terlaje, Chief Justice Torres stated, "Attorney Brown satisfies the requisite statutory qualifications and has the competence, integrity, experience, and temperament to be successful as a magistrate."
Attorney Brown was selected from three candidates provided by the Guam Bar Association as required under 7 GCA § 4401(a)(2). A panel consisting of three judicial officers and one attorney reviewed resumes and conducted interviews, unanimously recommending Attorney Brown for the position.
