Håfa Adai,
For those who may have friends or family members with high school students, the Ninth Circuit Court is sponsoring the 2023 High School Civics Contest.
The theme of the 2023 contest is, "The 28th Amendment: What Should Our Next Amendment Be?”
The contest is open to high school students in nine western states, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Contest entries will be accepted from January 4, 2023 through March 13, 2023. Individual students can express their thoughts and ideas in an essay of between 500 and 1,000 words, and individuals and teams of up to three students can produce a 3–5-minute video on the theme. A student may submit both an essay and video but may submit only one essay and be involved in the production of only one video. Cash prizes will be offered to the winners on both the local (Guam) level and on the Ninth Circuit level.
If you have any questions regarding the contest, feel free to contact Charles White, Chief Deputy Clerk at the District Court of Guam via email at charles_white@gud.uscourts.gov .
